Shopping in Costa del Sol has changed radically in the last ten years. Everything was available in 'fereretería' - specialised little shops - and no ‘all under one roof’ shops existed. These specialist shops are still to be found in the small town high street, or tucked away in city side streets.

For those who want to flex their credit cards, Malaga offers a wide variety of shopping experiences.

From the famous Spanish department store, El Corte Ingles, to the elegant 19th-century architecture of Malaga’s Central Market, the Atarazanas, you’ll find something to tempt you. Near the station, the Larios centre has a big multitude of shops under one roof.

From Torremolinos’ bucket and spade shops to Marbella’s classy boutiques, the Costa del Sol overflows with shops of all shapes and sizes.
