Public holidays that fall on a weekend are not officially forwarded. When a public holiday falls on a Thursday or Tuesday. it is common practice to 'make the bridge' by taking off the Friday or Monday so creating a very long weekend.

Each town in Costa del Sol have its own holiday, normally combined with their local festival or saint celebrations.
