Visas for Spain
Spain is a signatory to the 1995 Schengen Agreement, and forms part of the border-free travel zone known as the Schengen Area.
Depending on your nationality, you might need a visa for going to Spain. Visa requirements tend to change often and it is important to check whether you need a visa and how to apply for it.
Advice for UK residents: A full British passport, valid for the entire duration of the visit, is required to enter mainland Spain. For stays over 90 days, residence permits are required; temporary permits for stays up to a year and permanent permits after that.
